The George Sth Melbourne, through its association with Mr. Graham Hawkins and his brother Doug (who play in their band once a month at the Hotel) have assisted in raising valuable money for the Kinglake Kids.

Graham and Doug both grew up in Kinglake on their families property and were very involved in the community through both sport and their family.  Their Mother was heavily involved in the development of the Kinglake Kindergarten, which over the years has been an integral part of the rich tapestry that makes up King Lake.

On Black Saturday 2008, when so many peoples lives were devastatingly affected, the Kinglake Kindergarten was destroyed.
Graham and Doug, who were affected by events more than most, decided to do something.

The boys, through their committee and numerous supporters, have coordinated a number of sensational events to raise proceeds to not only rebuild the Kindergarten but to bring it into the 21st Century and increase its capacity so that it can cater for the community for decades to come.

Three major events were held - a concert and Auction held at the Lexus Centre,  a Community Night held at the George Sth Melbourne which involved many Sth Melbourne Traders who gave so generously, and a golf day  wonderfully supported by 3 telecommunications.

For any further information regarding the Kindergarten, contact Graham Hawkins on 0411 757 500.
